"She must have a wholesome personality, a desirable sex appeal, and above all, a healthy and shapely body." - Wil Blanche

Controversial Wil Blanche photographed nude women (particularly Caucasian) in the late 1950's, unusually and boldly publishing them under his real name. African-American Wil was brought to the states from the West Indies around 1915, eventually to have an impressive photography career being published in magazines such as Look and Sports Illustrated. Commonly recognized for his work in 'Documerica (1971-1977), Wil was commissioned to photograph the then newly constructed Twin Towers. A freelancer most of his life working from a studio which he built himself, Wil Blanche's work is full of character, story and raw beauty.
